Rice Cereal or Whole grain cereal??

Question

I started giving my daughter baby cereal but I wasn't sure which one was best, so I grabbed one rice cereal and one whole grain cereal. I've heard bad things about rice cereal, but what about whole grain? Does anyone know if it's bad? I already give her homemade puréed veggies and fruits. And I'm not sure about how many days or how many times a day I should give her cereal. She's 6 months old.

Neither. There's no nutritional value at all so it's just empty calories. I'd just stick with the fruits and veggies.

My pediatrician said there's no nutritional value is rice cereals. All it does is make your baby fuller. I would stick with Whole Foods if your starting to introduce solids. Purée is the way to go.

We didn't do any rice because rice contains arsenic so we only did oatmeal

We did gerber oatmeal since the rice can cause constipation and our daughter had enough stomach/gas troubles.

I fed my daughter all types of cereals sometimes I would mix them together. the other thing I did with the cereal was I would mix baby food in with it because the baby cereal is very Bland you can always get it the flavored baby cereal

I give my son (6 months) oatmeal the baby kind. I give it to him in the morning for breakfast with some fruit baby food.
