Is he being sketchy or am I overreacting?

So my bf of 8 months recently had his facebook "hacked" and a picture of me was taken down. This is the only picture he had of me on facebook since he rarely goes on and it's mainly to keep in touch with family and distant friends. Long story short we think his ex girlfriend had his password and took it off because the location of the edit was in California whwre she lives and he was in Japan at the time of the incident (i know this for a fact).

his family knows about me and i met his cousin in person. he also has one picture of me on instagram but again he rarely posts on that either.

anyways it really upset me because I was a secret in my last relationship and i didn't want it to happen again so i told him i wanted it fixed on facebook and he said he would definitely fix it. weeks pass and he never fixes it. i brought it up again and he said he would. he didn't. i got angry at him for making a promise and not keeping it and his response was to blow up at me and just delete his social media apps all tpgether (not the accounts, just the apps) to avoid having to put a picture of me on his facebook. I thought it was a little much and he could have simply made me feel better because he knows about my past relationship but refused. am i wrong?
