Do you care/////wedding attire?

Do you care about what your guest wear to your wedding? I mean obviously they should dress up but like I've been seeing a lot of post about girls showing what they are gonna wear to their friends wedding and then people are commenting that they should ask the bride if it's okay to wear?? 
For me personally as long as your dressed up and not in white I don't give a shit. But seems like other people care.

I put a card in with my invitations to ask people to dress formal/black tie optional. In my opinion if the bride really doesn't want people wearing certain attire just say so. Let people know.

as long as they're not wearing all white, I'm good. i guess it shouldn't be too casual but it doesn't have to be over the top "black tie" either.

Sometimes people (especially girls) ask because they are afraid of wearing the same color as the bridesmaids and looking too much like them.

Normally guests can tell how formal/casual the wedding is based off how the invitation looks or what the location is written on it. Sometimes it even says at the bottom "black tie only" for really formal and elegant weddings. For me personally, as long as no one is in jeans or wearing all white, I'm good.

Looking back I could not tell you what a single person outside our wedding party and parents wore to our parents to our wedding, and even then it's only cause there are tons of pics or them... so no I would not care! Unless it's totally inappropriate... but even then, so many of the things that seem like such a big deal do not matter at all in hind sight.

As a bride I would have been upset / annoyed if a guest wore all white or looked like they were going to a funeral. I would expected everyone to dress up at least a bit.
