Friends > relationships. Unless it's a serious one then SO> Friendship. I would be upset since my SO and I are in a committed relationship but if we weren't, I wouldn't care about it. I understand that friends will always be there no matter what.  It depends on your situation. Just talk to him about it if it bothers you and compromise. These people are important to him.
