Do you burp your breastfed baby?

I've jumped back into exclusively bf and when I burn my son he doesn't burp every feeding and when he does it's the tiniest burp in history. When he was getting a bottle he'd do at least 3 huge grown man burps. Does anyone get away with skipping burping altogether with EBF?

don’t worry if baby does not burp and is content. Breastfed babies overall don’t take in as much air during a feeding as bottle-fed babies do, so usually don’t need to burp as often. 
I had to burp my dd. but like it says if baby is content I wouldn't worry about it.

I never did. The lactation consultant i talked to said breastfed babies don't take in as much air while eating vs a bottle so most babies don't need burped.

I heard breast feeding reduces their need to burp. that they get more air from bottles and that's why they need burped, but it could just be an old wive's tale

I always burp my kids. Always. If they don't burp then I lay them down. Totally ok. But I do it regardless. Breast fed babies tend to have less gas most of the time.
