Do I have to tell my job I am pregnant?

Question

Last time I had a meeting with my boss to tell him and plan my leave etc... I ended up having a very bad experience that made work a hostile environment for me at that time even though I love my job overall. 
I feel like just going about my job and wearing loose clothing and not actually informing them even once it has become very obvious (which I have heard can be quite early on for #2 - eep). 
Am I actually under any obligation to tell them? Is it totally crazy not to? Has anyone done this?

here in the UK I believe you don't have to tell them until 11 weeks before your due date. something like that anyway!

It's better you tell them you might need days off for doctor appointments or medical stuff

I think you only need to tell your hr department and that's only because they need to input your leave time Ana benefit changes is you choose to have any when you have the baby. for my job, my boss will know regardless cause they have to get coverage for me while I'm gone.

I found I was pregnant right when I started a new job and because I had several appointments already scheduled, I told them on my first day. They were great about it. Sadly I only worked for about 25 weeks before I became so uncomfortable that I had to quit
