when should I start my leave. I have 6 months paid. Currently 32w and dying at work everyday due to GD (insulin dependent) and swelling in legs, feet and hands. Throw in sciatica too! Will be induced due to med reasons at 37-38w

Do what makes you happy. If you feel it’s too much strain on your body now then leave, if not wait it out as long as you feel you can. It’s your body and you need to think about yourself 😊

Before,  I would've said wait it out till 35 weeks.  But I don't have GD or sciatica and my doctor just advised me to give up work at 33 weeks because my body is constantly aching.  If you really feel like you can't hold out for a few more weeks it won't make a massive difference if you were to leave early.

I would wait until at least a week before being induced. You never know what could happen during induction with you or baby (god forbid) but having that extra few weeks would be a good thing. Plus in turn you'd get more time with baby

Form my experience I went out on bed rest at 26 weeks with my first and exhausted my leave before I returned to work and had no choice but to return sooner than I wanted. But honestly it doesn't matter how much time you get with baby it is never enough my advice is to put up with working as long as you possibly can to have the most time with baby in the long run you'll be glad you did.
