We got a Graco crib from target online and it comes with a mattress, we paid $140 that total includes the shipping

We have a Graco one that comes rolled up in a box. Under $50. Expanded perfectly for us and baby's slept wonderfully on it for 8 months now. Came with a waterproof cover too.

I bought and took back two other mattresses before getting the moonlight slumber little dreamer mattress. It's honestly amazing, and not wrapped in thick plastic that makes a sound every time your baby moves, waking them up! My son is an incredible sleeper. Who knows if that's because if the mattress, but hey, I wouldn't change a thing!

I don't know if you have a Burlington coat factory by you, but we found a great deal on a sealy mattress for the crib there. It was about $100.

I would just make sure it's all-organic.  The normal ones are sprayed with flame retardant chemicals.  
Which is toxic to baby's nervous system. 
And if nobody's smoking in your kids crib, flame retardants are totally pointless!
