BLOOD IN MY STOOL??

Question

I was straining while going to the bathroom and then i noticed that in the stool there was bright red blood!! I'm terrified cause i got food posioning two weeks ago and i was terrified it might be listeria. somebody please help me:/ what does this mean? my anus itself was not bleeding there was blood in the stool!

If it's bright red, it's from lower in the GI tract. How much blood was it? Has it continued? If it stopped you likely had/have internal hemorrhoids, especially since you were straining. Don't strain, it's not healthy. If it continues, go to the doctor (not the ER unless it's an extreme amount). If it stops, you're likely fine. However, if you've had any other recent changes to your BM's (size, consistency, etc, it may not hurt to have it checked out). Also, if you start to notice any signs/symptoms of anemia (shortness of breath, fatigue, pale gums, pale nails, pale canthus), have it checked out. Good luck! 🍀👍🏻

Happened to me literally two days ago. Might be  hemorrhoids. That’s what it was for me
