Does Birth Control Cause Vaginal Dryness?

Hi everyone, so my current issue is feeling off down there. It feels sore, itchy, somewhat dry, and I can kind of see abrasions on the lips that are sore to touch. For a year and a half now I just haven't felt right, and have tried everything. I went to my OBGYN 3 times and got tested for any type of infection and nothing came back positive. The only thing she did recommend for me to do is don't wash your vagina with soap (even though I just used Dove unscented soap). My last resort now is probably Birth Control to see if it helps any. I feel like maybe my estrogen is low or hormones are off and that is possibly causing an issue, and birth control can regulate that. My question for anyone that is on the pill, does it cause you to feel dry down there or do you feel pretty normal and no issues? Thank you in advance for anyone's opinion, I greatly appreciate it.
