Is doing this with your registry okay?

So I just had a random thought last night about posting the link of my baby registry to my Facebook wall. I just have a a lot of out of state family who can't come to my shower and didn't know if it seemed like no big deal or just kind of being immature. I just know personally if one of my friends or family posted theirs I would be glad to try to help .

instead of just posting it why don't you create an even page and then invite people to it with the link?

Send the out of state family invitations to the shower anyway & list the registry that way perhaps, not everyone checks/uses FB regularly anyway

I posted mine but started the post with "since I've been getting asked a lot lately, I have finally finished putting together my registry". Then I went on how I don't expect everyone to buy everything on my list, that it was mostly a list for me to reference what we still need/the brand that I want. We also have invites going out to a lot of people and just created a Facebook event page because the invites are taking longer to get done than expected.

I think it’s a great idea. I did something similar with my wedding registry. I have family all over the world and the online lists are great for those who want to help out or get you things but aren’t close enough to drop it off themselves.
