What's everyone's newborn schedule like?

I'm a FTM & I honestly am having so much trouble scheduling in tummy time and bath time. She always wants to eat and sleep. If she's not sleeping, she's eating or she's crying to eat. & then she passes out. & then I'm passing out because of her cluster feeding. I feel so exhausted after feeding her. I'm also still recovering from birth. I got a lot of stitches around my (sorry tmi) labia and vaginal opening. It hurts just to sit. I've been living on Advil and I never took Advil before this. My baby is 2 weeks old today (:

Second time mom chiming in... you won’t really have a “schedule” for a couple of months. Newborns are exhausting and truly have a mind all their own about when they want things and how they want them. As far as squeezing in tummy time and baths, I find it’s best to follow baby’s cues and do them after feedings. If you finish a feeding and they’re alert = a good time for tummy time. Finish a feeding in the evening and they’re sleepy = a good time for a bath.

Third time mom. I agree with the other mommy that newborns do not have a schedule. My sweet little boy has been nothing like his brothers. He can have a good night where I get 4 hours of  sleep and then the next night he is up every two hours to eat and might even be awake for two hours. He is a very snuggle baby and will not stay asleep for long periods of time unless he is being held or touched. I am exhausted but I know that this will pass as he gets older and I will miss it when it stops. If baby's growing and pooping properly do not fixate on a schedule just fixate your baby's beautiful face! You got this!!!

Girl bath time is the last thing on my mind ! My baby girl is 6 days and we mostly just eat and cuddle ! I gave her like one and a half wipe downs so far 😂 she gets tummy time on my chest when she's going to sleep / waking up 😂 her head control is freaking amazing for only 6 days ! Right now they're just getting used to being outside and actually eating and going potty. Don't stresss! You just gotta go with the flow 😘

Oh man I needed to read these responses today!! Thanks to all you mamas that reassure us FTM about what's normal. My son is 5wks old and has been cluster feeding for the better part of this entire week. His sleep schedule is WACK and I've been wondering if I should be doing something more/different/etc... anyway, these words came at the PERFECT time. Taking a deep breath and remembering to slow down and enjoy these fleeting newborn days

4th time mom here. I'm just stating again what the other mom's said. No set schedule for a tad longer. My little one is two weeks now and eats about every 3-4 hours. She's starting to be awake more during the day so I take that time to "play" and just started tummy time for as long as she can deal (only a like a minute right now). Other than that she's eating, pooping, and sleeping 🤣 Nights are tough waking up with her but I'm trying to enjoy it as much as possible. They're not this little for long! Hang in there and make sure to get a nap in so you don't lose your mind 😉

No schedule over here. Second time mom and I've learned it is less stressful to just do everything on demand. Doing so makes for less tears on everyone's part. For night time cluster feeding sometimes I'll watch Netflix other times I'll feed in a sidelying position so I can rest and dose as he eats. It will be a couple months before you can expect to see any sort of schedule or pattern.

I'm also a FTM & I can relate to the exhaustion! My baby girl is 8 days old & eats during the day about every 2-3 hrs & then at night we're shooting for every 3-3.5 hrs until she's back up to birth weight! Other than that, we're still trying to figure out a routine- she only seems to want to sleep during the day & not at night! Oh the joys of parenthood!

My son was a late premie, now he's one month old! But currently he's eating every 3-4 hours during the day & 4-5 hours at night . When he was two weeks it was every 2-3 hours all day and night. We bathe him every evening at his last daylight feeding when he's fussing for a bottle every 3 days. It helps to calm him down after the bath too :) then after bottle he falls asleep!

Mine is opposite she's totally sleep deprived. I have to wake her up to feed her. She was on a strict 2hr feeding schedule for the first week due to losing too much weight. She lost 10-12% and we spent an extra night in NICU with her before we could leave hospital. Complications due to Csection and her latching problem led to her not eating. Finally we're on a 3hr feed schedule. But still having to wake her to feed her. She's only woken up 2x by herself. She's so exhausted. She takes forever to fall asleep she fights it. She's lucky if she gets 1.5-2hrs sleep between feeds. I added it up yesterday in 24hrs she only got 12hrs sleep. Yet it says newborns need 11-18hrs of sleep. So she gets the bare minimum. It's exhausting. Cause I'm trying to get her to BF. And I pump to supplement. It's never ending. By the time a feeding is over and I get her to sleep it's almost time to do it all over again. I get about 3-4hrs sleep at night on 1-1.5hr increments. 😩
