Maternity leave

I'll be 30 weeks tomorrow with my last baby (baby#3) I worked up with my daughter (2nd pregnancy) until the day I got induce. But I'm curious to know when did other moms start there maternity leave? I'll also be having my tubes tied NO RUDE COMMENTS but I was thinking at 38 weeks to prepare myself and also to relax while son (who's 7) is in school and daughter ( 2 1/2) in daycare to be home alone until due date? But is it up to most doctors on when you go to maternity leave
