Should I apologize?

So I was in P.E. today and we were playing Ultimate Frisbee, (which is basically football but with a frisbee. I know it's weird, but I mean🤷‍♀️) and so I was trying to pass the frisbee to my teammate and this kid was getting too close to me and I just reminded him that you have to stay at least arms length away. (Calmly) after that he just started making fun of me and mocking me. Eventually he had the frisbee and everyone circles around him, so he stretches out his arms and spins around saying "you have to stay arms length away" and he slapped me in the face. At this point I just snapped and grabbed his arm, pulled it down, and took hold of his shirt and pulled him super close to me and I said, "touch me again and I'll beat your ass" and walked away.😅 I'm normally a pretty passive person but idk...should I apologize?
