Medications

So my grandmother was taking ambien because she has trouble sleeping. Well she also drinks and she would not go to sleep after she took it. It would make her mean and make her say stuff she wouldn’t if she hadn’t and it became a serious problem. Well she flushed them down the toilet because my brother and I really talked to her about it. Now I found Amitriptyline in her bathroom where she always kept the ambien and I read on it but I dont know much about it. How are they different? It says the Amitriptyline is an antidepressant but can also help people with insomnia. Will the Amitriptyline have the same effects as ambien?
