Babies: self feeding problems?

Question

So she's totally fine grabbing toys and big objects out of my hands and off the floor but if I have her little puffs cereal in front of her she puts her hand over them and then since she can't physically see them anymore she doesn't put them in her mouth even if it's in her hand. Anyone else have this problem? How can I get her to self feed with these? Maybe there just too small? Just seeing if anyone else had these issues!

Their fine motor skills are still developing, most babies don’t have a good pincher grip until 8-9 months so picking up puffs is a challenge. Just let her keep practicing she will get there! You could also try mum mums / teething waffers bc they are easier for younger babies to grasp and bring to their mouths.

Maybe try larger chunks of food like avocado or cut larger "fry" shapes of squash or sweet potato? I started my daughter on those things first and she could pick them up and nibble/suck on them and now she can pick up and eat smaller things like beans and puffs. It's baby led weaning!

I have this issue, a bit. She's 7 months yesterday on the 3rd. She can self feed, even tries to use her own spoon to feed herself. (it's just very messy when she does.) But if anything is smaller than like... a French fry and it disappears I  her hand and she can't see it sticking out, she won't eat it and will usually drop it for the dog to find lol. But if the food is sticking out of her hand, no issues! So maybe the food is too small for her at this point.
