Firefighter boyfriends 👨🏻‍🚒💕

So my boyfriend is a firefighter and I know he loves it and I’m proud of him for putting his life on the line to save others but when his pager goes off he runs out the door no matter what we are in the middle of and I mean NO MATTER WHAT I feel like he puts volunteer firefighting above me !! I love him but idk how to tell him I need him to miss a call or two (not fire calls but the little calls that don’t need a million of the guys there just standing around like he would be) if we are in the middle of something or if we are at an important event. He even will sit up the fire house for hours on end doing nothing when I’m home cleaning out place and taking care of our clothes and dishes. Opinion am I being ridiculous or is he putting the fire house over me ??
