Are you getting a flu shot?

Idk what to do. I never get the flu shot and I'm always fine during flu season. I got it last year but it lasted 2-4 days tops. I got the flu shot a few years ago and got sick for 2 weeks! I wanna hear other stories and other opinions on it.

I researched the ingredients and reviewed studies, then weighed the pros and cons. Not worth it to me, especially when pregnant.

I'm not. I trust in the body's ability to fight disease IF you get the flu. If your diet is healthy and you get enough rest then there's no reason why you won't be strong enough to cope with the flu, even during pregnancy. If you want to look into prevention, Manuka honey, oregano oil and echinechia are all really good holistic natural antibiotics and lemon water will help keep anything nasty away! X

the CDC and almost any doctor you talk to recommends it. the chances/risks of getting the flu WAY outweigh the risk of a complication from getting it. I look at it as protecting me and baby.

I never have and I won't now. 3rd pregnancy during flu season and it's just my preference. My daughter got it once as a baby and she ended up sicker than she had ever been in her life. Needless to say, both of my daughters have never gotten the shot since then.

If you were only down for 3-4 days with what you thought was the "flu" I can guarantee it wasn't the actual flu. Probably a cold or some other bug. I've only had the actual flu one time and omigod it was the most horrible experience. I've never been so sick in my life. For weeks. I'm a very active and healthy individual, and I've never had a bug bring me to my knees like the flu. I am religious with my flu shots now. I cannot imagine having the flu while pregnant, and I would be absolutely terrified for my baby if I did get it. The flu shot has far more benefits than risks. All of the "evidence" that says it is dangerous or causes other health problems has been completely refuted. the scientific studies that are often cited as evidence have all had their credentials pulled because they were unethical/full of made up numbers and data.
