SOS Need outside advice!

Here’s the deal. I have been sleeping with this guy, and we started as friends. Well one day he told me he wanted to take me on a nice date and wanted to date me and that he had liked me. Well the. A week later I get a message from him saying we can’t be friends because he met someone and she knew we slept together and he needed a step back. Well I had a serious conversation with him last week and he told me this guy freaked out when she found out him and I slept together. She didn’t like that so she asked him to take a step back from the friendship. Well he said he found me so attractive words couldn’t describe it. I feel the same about him. But he had played mind games with me at first making me think we were going to date. Then he dropped me off the planet for this girl. Then he admits to being attracted to me? I want to date him because he is a good guy. I just need outside advice on this. What do you gals think I should do? Step away from the friendship? Go for it and see where it goes? Or just don’t even bother? Sos.
