HELP! Is this mold or dust? It dissolved in bleach!

Hello! Found this in our wall AC and I think it’s why I’ve been chronically sick with a never ending stuffy nose, fatigue, headaches and killer sore throat!! Literally been sick all spring/summer! Since this appeared in our ac! My DH is ruthlessly lazy and refuses to help, he swears it’s nothing.. but that doesn’t look like nothing! And why am I still sick?!

i hope you wore a doctors mask or something because you can make the mold airborne by cleaning it and create health issues even if you weren't pregnant

It's black mold and may or may not be toxic. You need to have it tested and if it is toxic black mold, professionally cleaned.

Black mold. I had that in my last house and I was having constant sinus issues, horrifying sinus headaches too. My doctor said it was just common allergies but it was for over a year straight. Ended up seeing an allergist and he asked about mold in the house, which I knew we had in the basement. Turns out that was my problem. It can be pretty scary too, my grandma developed asthma from it. Your pregnant so it’s nothing to mess around with at all. 
We moved out two years ago and ever since, all of my symptoms are gone.

It looks more like mildew from the condensation in your air ducts and on the registers. Clean it with bleach and use a kilz based paint. You can buy it in a spray can and just repaint the insides of your registers and the vents.

Becareful using bleach on black mold..... its only a temporary fix, it will grow back and sometimes worse after bleach

I just took it apart and bleached it! It dissolved the mold!! I’m pretty pissed with DH... how does he not care?! Im pregnant and home with our toddler?!

Black mold. Bleach won’t kill it it will just temporarily cover it up. I would get a new ac... definitely stop using that one
