Tampons postpartum

Okay so this is a little embarrassing but I really wanna know if anyone else has delt with this. Okay so my daughter is nearly 8 months and I think I started getting periods after she was like a month or two I normally would use tampons with no problems. But today I got a random intense pain and needed to immediately take it out. Anyone else had this problem? If so advice would really be appreciated.
