teacher experiences with maternity leave in August or beginning of the year?!?!

What are your experiences with having a baby at the beginning of the year and taking maternity leave? Is it hard. I'm trying to have my 2nd and now I'm getting to where that could be a possible due date if I got pregnant. We have been trying for 6 months and I hate giving up just because that would be a difficult time.

I’m TTC ... family first, everything else I second. I had summer babies before. This time I am having a much harder time conceiving. I am not waiting another year because of work.

I'm just nervous that I come back from maternity leave and I'll have a hard time getting control and management because I wasn't there in the first important weeks. I just worry that it will make it a long year.

just remember a lot of ppl, including teachers don't plan and stuff happens.

One of my friends had her baby in July...she spent the school year before that planning it out, making sure everything was good with the principal and around May ish was already making copies for the beginning of the school year. She went to back to school night but did not actually go back to school until November. She would have stayed with baby longer but needed to go back for money reasons. Unfortunately the sub she had was NOT a good one for starting the school year and barely used anything she prepared, butnwhat can you do! I say keep TTC. Sure your career might get iffy but even if things are weird when you come back from maternity leave, it will be worth being able to come home to a baby ❤️

My sister in law is a teacher and had her baby 9/21. She went back for a week. Couldn't do it so her dr took her out. She goes back January.  She planned everything out w her school before the previous year ended.
