How did you know that name was "the one"?

To those who have their baby name confidently picked, or have previous children you named:
How did you know that the name you picked was "the one"? (Is there a story behind it? Im seriously needing to figure out what it takes to commit to a name.)

With my previous children, I had the names picked out for years and still loved them with all of my pregnancy hormones in full swing. 
This baby will be named Bobbi Sue. I know that is the perfect name because my dad's name was Bobby Gene and his mother's name was Sue. I lost them both to cancer, my father just recently. This baby was conceived because my IUD spontaneously expelled and I didn't know and is due on my Dad's birthday. Hard to deny the perfect name.

I loved the name Evelyn ever since hearing it on the film the mummy - pathetic I know but I was like 13 and fell in love with it. Met my now hubby when I was 20 and about 2 months in we were just discussing names we liked for fun and HE said Evelyn as it was his sisters middle name and great grandmothers name - I got a bit freaked out but it later came up when we discussed marriage and so forth. Our daughter is now 3 and she is Evelyn Marion, Marion is the name of both of our grandmothers. So all in all a name we both loved and related to family members. Lots of people thought the name was too old and outdated but we don't care and still love our choice x

For almost the entire 9 months before my daughter was born, we had the name Kelsey Nicole picked out for her. My sister-in-law had mentioned the name Autumn and I really liked it, but wasn't sure what middle name would even sound right with it. We were visiting my grandparents(extremely religious). After a few hours of looking at names I could throw in as her middle, I found and fell in love with one.. Autumn Faith. No one could argue against.

My first son is named the original name my parents had picked for my brother. They changed the first name when my brother was born but kept the middle so I used the original name and my brother and son share the same middle name. My brother was very happy that I did that and he means a lot to me so I was happy he was happy.
Our second son was named after both grandfathers. My husband's father's is his first and my father's is his second. It's how my husband was named. 
With our third son we wanted something different that we hadn't heard and also a family name so we picked a first name we hadn't ever heard and my grandfathers middle name. 
With the current pregnancy, our only daughter it's been hard. I had a name picked out that felt perfect and I was so happy with it and then people started criticizing it and led to me changing it and then changing it again and then changing it back. I went through Pinterest and every website I could find and in the end her original name though common in polls is not one I have heard a lot where I live. 
You will get a gut feeling. Stick with it.

this is a hard question because I think it's more instinctual. if your married and you bought a wedding dress I would compare it to the same sensation of finding the one on wedding dresses or maybe knowing that puppy you're going to adopt its the one. it's kind of hard to explain but my husband and I went through so many names and we finally just found the one that just clicked it sounded good with our full name and we both really liked it
