paraguard?

can anyone here share their experiences with the paraguard IUD? I am getting my nexplanon taken out on Monday and I'm thinking about getting paraguard because it's non hormonal but on some websites it says the reaction your body has to it still affects your hormones. I gained 30 pounds in 11 months on nexplanon and broke out horribly. I want to know if anyone has any experienced these kinds of symptoms or not with paraguard

I had the paraguard for like 5 years. No weight gain or other hormone related issues. I did have very heavy periods that did not lighten over time, and I didn't get cramps.. but I never get them. I did however feel like my uterus was about to fall out sometimes, but I think it was due to the flow being so heavy. I took it out because I was sick of the periods and wanted to start ttc.

I had Paraguard for 3 months and an half ..... but it is hellish : very Very intense cramping that leave me useless and without any life, have been bleeding pretty much 3 weeks a month... and this month my period or what I thought my period were ... was fine until a week later I had a second period for 5 days leaving me again in agonizing pain ..... I love the fact that I can have sex .... but I don’t really have much time to enjoy it since I am constantly in pain .... However hopefully it will settle because when it does it seems the BEST option out there

If i had to recommend and IUD id say get the Mirena. I had it and my periods were non existant. And when they did come, they were very light! Granted everyone is different and i know that. Ive heard the paraguard gives you heavier periods and intense cramps! Good luck with whatever u decide hun!

I love my paragaurd. I've had it for 4 months now. insertion was painful. not the worst pain of my life, but still painful. I have no children. I can't use birth control with progesterone in it because it makes my ibd really bad. my flow is heavier then before. and I have about 3 hours of my period where the cramps are awful, but it's worth it to me to know I'm not going to get pregnant.

I had paragard for 4 years never had an trouble with it. And I got pregnant just after 2 cycles of being off it!
