Sort of a strange baby name: Ulysses

So my FIL suggested naming our baby-boy-to-be Ulysses.

We were looking for strong, traditional names and he is a history buff. You see how that happened.

We've been calling the baby Uly (Yule-y) since then, but I thought it was joke. I'm not sure if I want to saddle my baby with that name forever.

His middle name is decided and is rather ethnic sounding. Not English/American. So he can't really fall back on that.

What do you think? Cool or cruel?
