Clomid round 1

Hi ladies, I finished my first round of clomid last Saturday and had my first scan to check my follicles yesterday (Friday 6th) but the dr said it had not worked so prescribed Provera and 100mg clomid. He did bloods and the nurse later called to say it looks like I had ovulated In the last couple of days and to have sex TODAY! (Yesterday) we BD last Saturday and yesterday. Would yesterday have been too late in reality? Anyone fallen pg just after suspected ovulation?
