Bleeding at 12 weeks bright red like light period

I am exactly 12 weeks 1 day today. I went to the bathroom before bed and noticed bright red when I wiped. Then I looked at toilet and blood was in toilet. I immediately went to ER where they ran bloodwork and did an ultrasound. The ultrasound showed baby moving and heart rate of 158. The size is right on target so they sent me home. I'm still bleeding and have light cramping. I'm just not at ease because it doesn't seem normal to have bright red and pass small clots. Has anyone had anything like this happen?
