Yes that sounds normal. Depends on how old too. My son didn't smile until 6 weeks and he still only laughs in his sleep

Was your lo born on time my daughter has just turned 8 weeks and still only smiles when asleep but she was 3 weeks early so they have said for me not to expect her to smile till corrected age which will be 9 weeks

My almost 7 week old doesn't really smile yet either. We see smiles in his sleep but not directly at us
