TTC after depo shot?

Question

My SO and I were talking about when we want to start trying for our next baby. I'm currently using the depo shot as my form of BC and have my next dose coming up next week (I'm considering switching to the pill so I can be more in control of when we start trying). 
I'm wondering how long it took for you to conceive after coming off the depo shot? I've heard some women took years to conceive after they stopped using it, so I'm curious on other's experiences.

I've been off Depo for about 2 years and still have irregular cycles. Been trying to conceive for 2 months.

I've been ttc 4 month been off depo 6 and still having irregular cycles.

I have yet to conceive since stopping 3 years ago however I have other circumstances involved that prevented me from getting pregnant but it took 18 months for my periods to come back after stopping depo. My Dr had me take milk thistle, dandelion root and Vitex supplements finally to flush my system of the remaining depo hormones and restart my periods. If I’d of known it took that long I’d of stopped much much sooner or never started it in the first place. I’d like to think 3 years later I’d be pregnant by now if the other circumstances hadn’t come up though
