How young is too young to get a tattoo. Had an argument about it and want to see what others think.

At least 18.  But I think it depends on the person...I got one at 18 and I was nowhere near mature enough to make that decision!!

I was 16 for my first two, but they were both mom approved. i had to explain why I wanted them for both.  i got two more at 17, and both she signed for. she has the same tattoo artist and we get work done together now.  despite being 19, she's sat with me for 5/6 of my tattoos.

girl get your tattoo when you want one... its your choice I mean its your body...I got my tatto at 15 and I do not regret it at all..just chose a tatto that means something to you...like for example I got a heart with a semi colon becuase I suffer from depression so its means something to me...

Lol I got my first Tattoo at 15! 😂 I still like it because it was my first but it is definitely not the style I get now and was hard to add onto. Also at 15 I didn't understand how to take care of it properly and it got messed up. I had to redo it once it finally healed.  However, I made a deal with my younger brothers that if they waited until 18 to get their first I would pay for it and I think they are much happier with their tattoos then I was with mine.

I think it seriously depends. Absolutely not younger than 16... and if you are under 18 it should be a design approved by your parents and NEVER done by someone who isn't a professional. When I was 16 I got my first tattoo with my mom, its classy and well done. In most cases, id say wait till you're 18.

You should wait until you’re 18. I got one at 16 and I seriously regret it. I wish I just would have waited and I wouldn’t have an ugly tattoo on my back 🤷🏻‍♀️ As an adult I’ve gotten 4 more tattoos and I love them all.

get it whenever its legal, but PLEASE ONLY BY A PROFESSIONAL!!! it doesn't matter what age you are when you get tattooed as long as you aren't stupid about it. I hear a lot of people saying wait till 18, but plenty of idiots much older still aren't mature enough not to get something ridiculous. there was a man on tv that had gotten two lizards doing it doggy style on his arm in his mid 20s and couldn't understand why noone at his daughter's gymmastic meets wanted anything to do with him or their children near him. it really all has to do with maturity level, which is on an individual basis, somewhat independent of age,  and definitely influenced by upbringing.
