How did you know you weren't straight?

I don't remember so well, but I think I was about 12 and I realized I had a crush on my best friend ☺️. She was straight however, so we just stayed friends (we still are!). Now my feelings for her are gone. At the time I wasn't sure if I was a lesbian or bisexual, but a few years later I realized I was actually pan. 
How about you? How did you know you were not straight and how old were you?

Growing up I didn’t know that bisexual was even a thing, as far as I knew you were either gay or straight with no in between so when I started to have mini crushes on girls I just brushed it off. I knew I wasn’t gay because I have always been more into men than women, I enjoy casual flings and sex with women but could never see myself in a relationship with a woman, although until I met OH I was never really into relationships with men either, I’ve always been more of a casual FWB kind of person.
I think I was in my early teens 13-14ish, I knew that bisexual was a thing by then, when I first started to realise that maybe that’s where I fit in. I didn’t fully admit it to myself until I was around 16-17 and while I came out early on to new people I’d meet I didn’t tell my oldest friends until I was I think around 21. It caused some problems and I’m only still close to one of them which hurt, the others have got used to it and fully accept me now but the damage to the relationships was done when they weren’t so accepting at first. I’ve never told my parents, some of my extended family know and I think my mum knows really we’ve just never talked about it. My dad is very religious and doesn’t accept gays in any way shape or form so I just haven’t wanted to stir things up, if I ever end up in a relationship with a woman then I would tell them and be fully prepared to lose them but I don’t see the point in causing that when I’m in a long term relationship with a man and I don’t plan on it ending, it would create drama just for the sake of it.

My best friend came out to me in 8th grade and told me she was in love with me then I didn’t know how to react then I started thinking like I think I’m in love with her too. We experimented and yeah I’m gay lmao 😂😻

I was 14 and I started questioning it when I found myself attracted to one of my best friends at the time. I came out to my friends when I was 16. Don’t regret it at all

I think I always knew. At five, I was kissing my friends and knowing exactly what I was up to. By ten-eleven, I had made out with girls and boys. Then, when I was twelve My friend more or less forced me to have sex with her and from there, my sexuality evolved. By eighteen I had the same number of women as I had men in the sheets. I'd also have to say that I prefer women in the sheets. Though, I prefer men emotionally.

I always wondered since I was little how it would be to love a girl, like, how would it be to make a girl feel loved and so, but I didn't think too much about it in that kind of way. Beyoncé's song "If I were a boy" actually made me start thinking more about it about when I was 10-11 and I had a crush on a boy that was an asshole. Moving into 15 years old, I was heartbroken by many guys already and so I started developing a crush on a girl friend of mine (at this time my best friend had a crush on me whoops) and so I started identifying as bi-curious/bisexual. I came out as bisexual to my parents and started "dating" her, but it all ended and stuff, and between all that mess I found out I actually have been crushing on my best friend too for a long time already and just didn't know it, so, long story short, she is now my girlfriend and we're gonna celebrate 4 months tomorrow :)
