What do you moms think?

Question

I have hired a babysitter to watch my 3 month old when I go back to work. She's very sweet with a 1 year old herself. Anyways, I have told the babysitter that if I didn't pump enough milk for each day that she could just supplement with formula. (My daughter has never tried formula yet) but I'm OK with it if there's not enough. Long story short, she still nurses her 1 yr old and asked me if I was comfortable with her nursing my daughter instead of formula. Would any of you moms be okay with this? I have just met her and she's absolutely
Wonderful.. just not sure if I feel comfortable.

Honestly? It’s a toughie. Breastmilk is a bodily fluid, and you have no idea what kind of diseases or whatever she may have. But it used to be VERY common to have a wet nurse. I was nursed by my moms friend when I was an infant and I turned out fine. But I don’t think I would be very comfortable with it myself.

The CDC does not consider breast milk a bodily fluid and isn’t considered hazardous. I would only require her to go to the local health department and get results of a hiv test because while the chance is slight it’s possible for hiv to be transmitted through breast milk. But I would be comfortable with it personally

Personally, I don't think I would feel comfortable with that. You don't know this woman's past history, you don't know how she really takes care of herself. I think the only time I would be ok with this is if it was my best friend or a family memeber. But obviously, that's 100% your decision

Go based off your feelings. My sister still nurses her daughter and when I was busy eating she offered to nurse my newborn son because he was hungry & she didn't want to bother me. I told her if she was comfortable with it she could and she did. Better for my baby (allows more antibodies  from her that I don't have) and he is keeping off formula which I'd prefer.
I understand a stranger and a sister are different, but most people who aren't looking into the interest of a baby wouldn't offer that. I'd probably look into her more, consider some sort of testing, but if I found her a great, healthy fit I'd probably say yes. My baby is so much more happy and comfortable on the boob than drinking out of a bottle. This is just my personal thought on it.

I don’t have kids but I can already tell you I would be uncomfortable with it personally I would tell her to try the formula but if she didn’t like it take to it then didn’t have enough of your Brest milk then maybe but that’s would be the only reason

I personally would not but if you're comfortable, it's totally up to you. I just don't trust people very much and you never know.

Eh I'm not sure. I don't have a problem with the idea of wet nursing, but I'd be unsure of it since you don't know her very well. If you're uncomfortable, don't do it.
