We tried to get pregnant for about 18 months. As I was 37 when we started, we sought treatment for infertility after 6 months of trying. I was anxiously awaiting my cycle day 1 so I could call the nurse and get my prescriptions, but after 3 days of waiting beyond when I’d expected my cycle to start, I took a test. And it was my first ever positive pregnancy test after the 40 or so tests I’d already gone through.
