To find out or be surprised?

My anatomy scan is in 4 days. My husband and I have both been on the fence about finding out the gender or not. He has 2 girls and I have a girl and a boy (they’re from our previous marriages). He really wants a boy because he biologically doesn’t have one. Idk if we should find out or not. I kind of feel like if we wait until I give birth it might kind of ruin the experience if it’s a girl because he will be so disappointed. So if we find out now he can get over it by the time the baby comes. What do y’all think? Should we find out or not?!?

Get an envelope. That way you don’t know right away but you can find out whenever you want to. If you’re on the fence, I’d recommend that. That way you don’t feel pressure to know ASAP at the appointment but you don’t regret not knowing as soon as you leave.

We waited with our first and are waiting for this one. It’s a decision you have to make together but speaking from experience, the suspense and excitement of finding out when they’re born is awesome!

I was going to wait but when the time came I couldn't bring myself to wait. I already knew it was a boy. my SO thought it was a girl. he was wrong lol

We ended up deciding to find out. We are having a BOY! My husband is so excited!

We're waiting. My husband wants to tell me what we're having. I wasn't initially excited about waiting but now I'm super into it! :) have asked a few people that waited and have done both and every one says they enjoyed waiting.

We have found out at our anatomy scans with our first two and again this time. Neither of us had the patience to wait! I didn't feel like I missed out on some big special surprise moment like some people claim you will by finding out ahead of birth. I loved knowing what each was, bonding with with them/talking to them by their picked out name during pregnancy, and of course getting what we need for girl/boy. If you find out at birth or prior, it's exciting and and fun no matter what!

I would say this is not something besides you and your partner should answer. Personally I like the surprise but my husband wants to find out. We compromised and didn't find out at the anatomy scan but it is going to be his Christmas present from baby. Personally I feel that at birth you will be so excited to finally meet baby that it won't matter if baby is not the gender you were hoping for.
