Thursday October 5th at 36 weeks and 5 days I went into the hospital to have my cerclage removed. I had been having contractions for the last week but my OB didn’t seem concerned at all so she waited a week for the cerclage removal. Anyway the day came and I was showering before the procedure and slipped and fell and bumped my belly, I knew we were going to the hospital right away after so wasn’t too concerned. We get to the hospital and get hooked up and they can see me having contractions that’s when the doctor walked in asking us if we wanted to just have my baby today and do the removal at the same time. Not being prepared for that and only being 36 and 5 we declined and said we would wait. (We had a scheduled c section for the 26th. 39 weeks and 5 days) so she left and the time came to go back to the OR and get the cerclage removed. I get the spinal they take me back and in recovery I’m immediately hooked up to the monitors where they can see I’m having contractions two minutes apart however I could not feel them with just having the spinal block. So now they say I’m for sure having this baby today and within an hour I’m back in the OR having my baby boy. It was so unexpected but glad it’s over and he is here. He is amazing and came out on October 5th at 419pm weighing 7lbs 13oz and 18inches long. His sister who is 14 months old is not to fond of him yet but I know they will be best friends!
