need some advice epidural Or no epidural if I go into labour naturally?

walking epidural all the way . and you absolutely do not have to make a decision now. whos telling you this? If it's your doctor, you need to have a talk with them because you do not need to make this decision until you're in labor and it's ridiculous that you be required to make it prior. An epidural does need to be called in as a prescription, but your doctor should be able to do what my doctor did which is simply call it in in advance so it's ready for you

I had an epidural free labor and delivery. It was really an amazing experience. For some, it's not like that. Why not decide while you're in labor and can see how you're coping with the contractions and pain?

Do what you feel is right for you. I had one and it was GLORIOUS. Best thing in the world with absolutly zero side effects or issues. Dont let people pressure you into going natural if you dont want it. But dont let people make you get one either.

No epidural. There’s risks of life long back problems totally not worth it. I just got a pethadine injection in my leg and that took the edge off enough to cope. If you want to be completely pain free then epidural is the only way

No epidural. Most amazing thing. I had no pain whatsoever. Slept through a lot of it. It was relaxing, I could get up to use the restroom myself, I could move around and help the baby into position better and walking around killed the time!

I have had both. The one biggest difference was the actual pushing part was more pleasant with an epidural. I am undecided with this one and will make the call when I'm in labor.

My daughter was 6lb 14oz, I dilated from 4 to 10cm in 45 minutes so I never had a chance to even get an epidural which I was ok with. I was hoping to go without one but was open to it too. I pushed for 3.5 hours which was exhausting however, I was very thankful I didn't have one as my doctor figured if I would've had one I wouldn't have been able to push my baby out and would've ended up with a C section.  It's just a choice you have to make, I went in open minded not completely against it and not bound and determined to have one. Which ended up all working on my favor because I didn't even have a chance to get one. Good luck!

At the end of the day your body will tell you how much it can handle. Everybody has different pain tolerance levels. I wanted to go pain med free 100%. I knew I definitely did not want the epidural.  One too many risks for my liking. I was able to epidural free. I had to give in to IV meds 2 hrs before baby was born. But honestly they did barely anything if at all. I got groggy and started to fall asleep until a contraction would wake me up.  meds lasted for all of 20ish mins. It helped some but not much. I was induced at 39wks and was told by my doc that it hurts a lot more than regular labor.  I feel 100% sure that if it had been a natural labor I would have been able to have gone 100% med free.  But the induction did male the labor faster. Don't stress yourself out too much about it. Make a "plan" but don't freak out it's called going through labor for a reason and you'll know when too much is too much
