Finding out the gender during the first trimester?

Hey all. I’m going in for my first official appointment on Monday the 16th. I’ll be getting an ultrasound and some blood-work done. I’ll be exactly 12 weeks then. With previous pregnancies, we didn’t find out the gender until week 19/20. But we’ve also never had an ultrasound between weeks 8-19 either so this is new. Anyone here ever have an ultrasound this early and find out the gender? I’m wondering if I should ask if they could tell yet.

The genitals are too swollen prior to the second trimester to be able to determine the gender accurately. Also, every baby has a nub between 11-13 weeks until the swelling goes down. My baby looked like she had a penis at 12w4d, but she definitely is a girl. Textbook picture ultrasound of what a girl looks like.

unless you get a blood test done there's no way to find out that early. all the parts are still forming best to wait until 18-20 weeks where you will get a clear picture of what you are having

14 weeks was the earliest I’ve heard people reliably getting the gender from ultrasound. I had genetic testing done at 12 weeks that happened to tell gender as well.

They probably won't even try to guess gender that early sorry.

It would be too early to tell, the sexual organs are still developing and would basically be a swollen blob at that point
