Cuphead tho

I'm surprised I haven't seen any threads about it yet, it's SO GOOD!! Difficult as hell, but so worth it especially since everything is done traditionally using all the same techniques as 30s cartoons. Watercolor backgrounds, cel animation, the grainy quality of the loading/start screens, smears, etc--the only digital part is coloring the characters/items. They drew a lot of inspiration from the Fleischer Brothers (Bimbo, Betty Boop, Popeye), and if you know anything about them or 30s animation in general, it really shines through.

The aesthetics and the amount of effort put into this alone make it well worth buying, but if you don't mind a challenge and you have enough patience, defeating a boss or completing a run 'n' gun level is SO SATISFYING. I'm not the most skilled gamer around, but I've really improved through playing this game. There's also a timeline that shows your progress whenever you're defeated and being able to see that makes you REALLY want to win.
