FIRST TIME MOM WHAT THE HECK DO YOU BRING TO THE HOSPITAL?!?!

i’ve seen different things everywhere some people spend quite a bit and are able to shower and stuff is that at any maternity ward?? what do i pack?!

I have no experience to speak of, but I took a childbirth class at my hospital and they told us what we should bring. They said they have shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, etc. but to bring your own hairbrush because theirs suck. They also have diapers, wipes, formula, and johnnies for the babies to wear. They recommended bringing clothes for yourself, a couple “going-home” outfits for the baby, chapstick, a blanket, anything that will make you more comfortable (pillows, music, etc.), snacks, and things to do if you have any downtime.

Ask your hospital what they provide. Some moms don’t stay more than a few hours after delivery and only really need clothes to wear home and something for baby to wear. Other stay 2-3 days and like to have their personal toiletries and other comfort items. I usually take my own shampoo, a hairbrush, an extra blanket, my laptop, and clothes for me and the baby. Everything else I’m fine with what the hospital has.

Car seat( I wouldn't bring it in until you get ready to discharge)
Usually hospitals supply diapers and wipes etc while you are in the hospital and don't bring any medications just bring the copy of the prescriptions so they can give it to you- it's against most hospital policies to bring in medications for a patient.
