What's wrong with me?

Ok so today my husband pointed out that every time I call him it's to complain about the baby. My son seems very needy to me sometimes which is probably normal for a 6-7 month old. But now I'm wondering why I complain so much? My husband works a lot so I don't get much help. Am I experiencing PPD?

Nothing is wrong with you. Being a full time SAHM is extremely hard especially if you have a high maintenance baby (tbh, going back to work was a relief for me 😶). It’s normal to feel like you need to vent. You need to have regular mommy breaks. Have your husband watch your baby or get a baby sitter and take some time for yourself. Some moms feel guilty about that but you shouldn’t. It’s better for your baby when you are a bit more relaxed and less frustrated.

I love my boy more than anything and we went through 3 losses and many years to have him. I feel blessed to be his mommy and be a sahm for now but I never gave it the appreciation it deserves until I did it myself. It is a lot of work and extremely exhausting to be home and care for a baby 24/7 And I have a really easy and happy baby. We just got back from Hawaii tonight and were there for almost 3 weeks, my husband does a lot of work there so baby and I tagged along this time. although it was great to be there it was lot relaxing in the least as I have a 7 month old to take care of. My husband would go to meetings and it would be me with the baby. One night we got into a little spat because I told him that I never get any time to myself when he commented that I take long showers, that time is my only me time. It's completely normal and I think we need to give ourselves permission to ask for a break.

 I thing is wrong with you, I would really encourage you to find a local mommy and me group to complain to them as well ;) haha! we’re all going thru similar things, you aren’t alone.

It depends what kind of “complaining” you do..I tell my husband when our daughter is having a bad day and tell him she’s being a stinker and I’m going to need a break when he gets home, etc. but it’s not a daily thing at all. Maybe having a baby isn’t what you expected and you’re subconsciously venting to your husband? What makes your son needy? Can you get help for it from a pediatrician or is it a normal infant neediness? Maybe tell your husband you need a break to decompress at the end of the day so he needs to take the baby for an hour or two and just let you do whatever you want.

There’s absolutely nothing wrong with venting or even complaining. I’m not a sahm, I work about 25 hours a week and like someone else said going back to work (which originally I didn’t want to do) was sort of a relief at times. I almost consider it my “me” time LOL. I try to have one day a week where I get out of the house by myself, whether it’s with a friend or a trip to the store. I felt bad at first, but we need time to unwind and be reminded that we still matter and exist and have needs. My husband plays video games and goes to the gym 5 days a week, and I find myself getting annoyed with him at times when we’re home together and it’s me taking care of our son, while he plays video games. Even if we would spend the time together playing with baby, I’d be more happy about it. Motherhood is tough and honestly nothing could have prepared me for it. And all of this is coming from someone who had a loss 5 years ago that tore me up and gave me severe emotional instability and PTSD for quite some time..
