Horrible situation

Okay so my bf and I are always play fighting but if I say the “wrong” thing he gets really distant and he doesn’t talk to me as much only gives me one word answers and I say I’m sorry to him he says I didn’t do anything wrong but he’s still distant.

For example I went to Vegas last week and since he didn’t go with me because he was in his hometown and he was worried about me and since there is a 8 hour time difference and it was like 2am for him. I told him not to worry about me too much that night because he wasn’t getting any sleep and he got mad at me for that.

After a two or three days I asked him why was he mad he told me that he should just keep his distance because I told him not to worry about me he told me that I said that I needed space when I was just trying to help him sleep better... After the fourth day he was back to normal after I said I don’t need space.

This happens every time I do something “wrong” and since he’s from Italy things run differently and he said he’s had a bad past with his past gfs and tells me he doesn’t want to lose me
