Am I the only one?

Question

Am I the only one that after getting this app and seeing what I should have and be doing to be a parent that has completely changed their mind about becoming one? My husband and I have been trying for a whole year and getting this app has made realize that I don't have enough money or skill for it right now. So I guess it's quitting time for the hubby and I because we most likely will never have even close to enough money for a child. I am only make $8 at part time and it took me forever to get this job and no one else that I have applied to have called me after the interview. Hubby makes $15 as a manager on full-time. We don't own a home, are paying off our car, I don't have my own insurance, just hubbies and my dad's. I think I will just have to be ok with not having kids.

If you really feel money is to tight then don’t have kids but I can tell you this, you don’t need the top priced items and all the bells and whistles they are crazy about on this app. I used a lot of garage sale and  items for my kids and basically just the necessities. You don’t have to have a $1000 baby room and spend 300 on travel set I could go on about other items but I’m sure you get the picture. I’m not gonna lie kids can be expensive, I have 3, but you can be reasonable and it’s not near as bad!

it takes a great deal of maturity to step back and evaluate your situation like you are doing. no, it doesn't sound like this is something you can afford right now. and if you truly dont really don't want kids then that's completely fine!! but if it's something you may want, don't rule it out. sit down with your husband and plan out some strategies to get where you feel you need to be to have a  child. my husband and I were married at 23 and besides the fact that we just weren't ready yet, we always knew that we didn't want to have a kid until we had the financial stability to continue to live as we please. so we had our first at 31 and it's wonderful.  just because you can't see a way to make something happen does it mean it's impossible. and it sounds like you have your head  on right

seriously... there is never a right time to have a child. I've found jumping into it is the only way. but if you definitely think you can't manage then wait a year or so

dont think about everyone else and their lives. if you two feel you are ready then you are. with you can. handle it then do. I don't have a job my hubby just got a raise to make $17 an hour and he's thinking about getting another job not because we need the money but because he wants to save up to build a house. we only have one car that needs to be replaced and so we shall. we rent our home with no chance at ever owning it because the owners do not want to part with it. and yes we still provide for our son. if you two believe it's possible then so be it. don't let others determine your life path. you got this!

if you honestly don't think you can handle it then that's your own decision. but there will never be enough money. you won't ever feel like you're 100% ready, and even if you do, it's all temporary. my husband and I had everything figured out. we both had decent full time jobs and we lived in my grandmother's old house so we had very few bills to pay and had more than enough money. we were ready, we had everything figured out and had even painted a baby room before we found out we were expecting our first. then everything came crashing down. I lost my job due to my pregnancy, my husband hurt his knee at work and ended up being out of work for a year after our daughter was born. because of this we had to move in with my mom and all of our plans went right out the window. but our daughter is perfectly fine and so very loved. we don't have everything and that's okay with us.

No judgement, just curious - is money the reason you don't want to be a parent now or is it an out you're using? As one I would happily recommend budgeting ideas, life stories and such for if it's something you want to make feasible, on the other hand if you don't want a family I want you to know that's perfectly fine too and I hope suggestions otherwise don't make you uncomfortable :-) I hope you and your partner are good whatever the decision you make together
