Cancelled IUI

I need some advice. I am on my first cycle of Gonal-F. I had my 12 day ultrasound today and I had 2 over 20mm follicles and 2- 17mm follicles, plus 6 15mm or below... my RE called me this afternoon and said that they would not do an IUI because of the risk of HOMP and that I should also abstain from sex until my next period...

I am devastated, having been actively trying to get pregnant for 14 months.

Should I still try on my own? I wouldn’t mind twins, and am open to selective reduction.

Update: I spoke with my husband, and we have decided to try anyway. Thank you all so much for confirming what I already knew was the right answer. Both of my sisters are done having children and they don’t want to talk about babies. Sometimes you just need to reach out for a little support.
