Clear Leakage?!

Ok so I’ll be 21 weeks as of tomorrow and today I noticed my bra was wet and I was thinking to myself “Why the hell are my tits so sweaty?!” After a little more examination I noticed that wet areas in the cups were where my nipples were. Squeezed a little bit only to be somehow still surprised that clear fluid was coming out 🤷🏼‍♀️ I know that this is normal but I was wondering what to further expect with my newly founded leaking tahtahs.. Like how long will this leakage continue? At what point will it turn into milk? and if both of my boobs are leaking does this mean that I don’t have to worry about only one producing milk?

They will probably continue to leak throughout the rest of your pregnancy. They make nipple pads you can put in your bra so you don't soak through your shirt! Your milk won't come in until a few days after you've given birth. Until then it's just colostrum. Leaking is no indication of how good or bad breast feeding could potentially go.

Since it started already to leak, probably it will continue till you deliver so would be a good idea to start buying something to put in your bra so your clothes won't get soaked with colostrum. Now the real milk comes 3 to 4 days after delivery, when your body gets the signal that the placenta detached from the uterus, our bodies are such amazing things hehe ^_^

Mine started leaking like crazy at 17 weeks! They leak all the time. My doctor said to wear tighter tops like a sports bra and not to stimulate my nipples, also she said I'm in a good position to breastfeed!  😊

Won't become milk until after baby is born. Nursing pads may be helpful if you continue to leak but it could randomly stop and that's okay. If you don't leak or stop leaking that doesn't mean that you won't produce milk. Hang in there!
