I thought I wanted a big wedding but now I am not sure?

Ever since I was young I have always imagined having a big wedding. Not too big but just enough for my family and very close friends to be there with me. But now I am having second thoughts. I want to get married but not have a reception or anything after. I'm not sure if I want a wedding party. I actually feel like eloping. It's not a sure thing, this feeling just came out of no where. Has anyone else felt something like this while planning their wedding?

I had a small wedding. Paid for it out of pocket without any loans. Best decision we ever made. My philosophy of weddings is get good pictures and vidoes. It's all that you are going to care about after the wedding and 10 years into marriage. Don't do things just to please people, they aren't going to remember your day nwez. Do what ypu are comfortable with. Believe it or not nobody cares about your day apart from you and your partner.

I had about 160 people in my wedding, mostly kids because I was living on an orphanage. My flowers were a gift, we didn't pay for the place to have the reception, I made my own dress. We spend about 1,200 for everything. My good friend took the pictures for 50 dollars, she's not a professional but our pictures came pretty good.

The older I get, the less I want a big wedding. In my opinion, large weddings become about showing off for the guests and not about getting married.

I'm getting married this December and I still feel like eloping. We're on a super tight budget, so it's been very difficult to plan and pay fir everything. It will be a very small wedding, though and we won't be swimming in debt after, so this small wedding is a good compromise, to share your big moment with your families, but not waste your life's savings on one night.

I wanted to elope in Vegas and have a great weekend. Instead we paid over 10,000 for a wedding with about 90 people and I still wish we would have eloped and saved the money.
