Egg collection today?

I had egg collection today for my first cycle. We had 15 eggs retrieved. My Dr seemed super happy with that number and we're doing IVF/ICSI and he's expecting 70-80% to be mature and fertilise. I'm on tender hooks already and have to wait until up to 2pm tomorrow for the first update from the embryologist as to how many were mature and then fertilised. I'm not naive. I know how quickly these figures can drop day by day. Now I'm over the hardest part I'm really looking for some success stories and any tips or advice on how to stay calm and positive through this wait for transfer and dreaded wait after. Or anybody else who has had retrieval done today and wants a cycle buddy?! It's so hard to stay positive when for the last 4 and a half years has been just full of negatives. I don't feel like we will ever get our BFP.

Hi ladies. Thankyou for all your comments!! Just heard back from my clinic and the embryologist just informed me that if the 15 eggs collected, 14 were mature and 12 fertilised with IVF/ICSI. We also used my fiancés fresh sample as it was a good sample and didn't need to use the frozen cycle. I won't get an update tomorrow as they are going amazingly. They will next update me Saturday. It's very unlikely we will have to do a 3 day transfer as with the number we have we will likely get some make it to blastocyst stage for transfer Monday or Tuesday. Finally in the whole whirlwind of TTC we have some news that isn't negative. It's really uplifted me!

Hi Kirsty, i had simular number for my egg collection in September. I had 12 eggs retrieved in egg collection, 9 were mature, 8 fertilized and 7 made it to day 5 blasts 😀 They transfered 1 on day 5 and i had 6 to freeze!! The doc said this was a very good result...We also did the ISCI as my husband has a low sperm count and 20% mobility... We were TTC for nearly 2 years and this was our 2nd ivf cycle as the first one got cancelled. We got our BFP 2 weeks ago!! I know it really depends on each individual couples situation for the overall outcome and each couple is different because of this but stay positive this is a great start 15 is great!!! Fingers crossed for you for tbe week ahead, positive thinking all the way i know its hard... good luck 💝

I just had my retrieval yesterday and got 13 eggs. Just got the call today that 11 were mature and all 11 fertilized. This is the most we’ve had in our 5 cycles of IVF. We have been trying for #1 for just over 5 years.

Just got a call that another 2 made it to blastocyst stage. So a total of 9 strong embie Frosties. Hopefully won't have to use them for a long time but they're there!

Transfer is in 2.5 hours. 8 have made it to blastocyst stage so great results. Let's hope these good results last for me when I come to test. Anyone else transfer today?! what to expect?

Still negative on a clear blue. When you all think it will show? I'm too impatient and I can't accept it's real until I see the word. Is this happening?

So, 11 of our 12 embryos are doing really well so our transfer will be happening Monday! (5 days) Eek! 😬 anybody can tell me what's to be expected? also how soon after transfer do you normally test? My clinic says 16 days but who on earth can wait that long? Surely I'd get Aunt Flo before that time??

Hey ladies...1st retrieval had 15 eggs, down to 9 overnight, 6 were biopsied and frozen. 2 had extra chromosomes, 1 girl (didn't make it through the defreeze) 3 boys (one had to be rebiopsied so hesnot expected to make it through another defrost) one on ice and one transferred but didn't stick. 
Had my second retrieval yesterday and only got 8 eggs, 5 made it overnight. Super sad, super negative today, having a super hard time staying positive. 😭😭😭

I had 26 eggs retrieved, 21 fertilized, 14 matured, and 8 made it to the blastocyst stage. I totally understand the wait! You can do this!!
