Severe Period Cramps

Yesterday my period started. I normally get really bad cramps the day before, and then two days into my period. However, this time, my cramps were UNBEARABLE the day of. I went to the ER screaming bc I was in pain -mind you, normally I have a very high pain tolerance. The pain was specifically in my lower right pelvic area. They checked everything out but it was all relatively nirmal. They said I may have experienced spontaneously resolved ovarian torsion but they are not sure. I just wanted to ask the community, have you ever experienced such awful cramps that you 1. passed out and 2. threw up? Did you find out the reason? I was embarrassed to go to the ER for menstrual cramps but honestly I thought I was hemorrhaging. I just don't understand why the pain was so much different and worse!?
