Gender selection IVF?

Just out of curiosity, I was wondering if anyone here has gone through IVF with PGD to select a preferred sex of baby. 
More specifically any women who haven’t had trouble getting pregnant but wanted a boy or girl specifically and went through it? 
What was the process like? How much was it? (I saw estimates) If you had no problems getting pregnant naturally was there a difference in the process?
I assume because it’s a relatively new method, there isn’t much info available online.

I can't imagine a fertile person choosing to go through IVF, even if they have several thousand dollars they don't know what to do with. Every aspect of fertility treatment is horrible. I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

I have a family member who had twins via IVF, they were tested and supposed to be girls. She gave birth to a pair of twin boys. I’m not sure if the cost, but if it’s not accurate it might not be worth the cost.

I just went thru 2 IVFs with PGD testing for gender selection, it’s hard !! I have no problem getting pregnant with my daughter, first month try, we only want to have 2 kids so we wish we could have a little boy with our 2nd .  however with gender selection it’s different stories ; first round no normal boy to transfer , we froze the girls and 2nd round 1 normal boy but didn’t take . We want to try one last time before we try it naturally again . It’s very hard journey even for fertile woman .

In NJ the cost for genetic testing through my clinic is $2000. That's on top of the costs for the cryopreservation (another $1500 or so, depending on how many embryos you have). All of that is on top of the regular costs for IVF, which vary greatly depending on insurance.

I'm in Toronto, Canada, we do PGS testing here, but we are not allowed to test for gender--therefore no gender selection, only chromosomes. I was quoted $5100 CAD for testing upto 6 embryos.
