Has your relationship ever hit a rough patch? What happened afterwards?

My partner and I are currently going through a tough time. There’s a lot of miscommunication and arguing. Has anyone experienced this? We also have a 3 month old son.

Miscommunication is the cause of SO many tensions and riffs in relationships. You really have to work hard on communication if you want your relationship to continue. I hear couples counseling is fantastic too.

communication is key. sometimes it's hard, but if you truly love that person you need to work on it. both of you do. right now my husband and I are going thru a rough patch, but as angry as he makes me I still love him dearly. I thought about divorce and even brought it up to him. but after thinking about it I realized it wasn't right and agreed to do the marriage counseling that my husband has suggested multiple times. we have been going thru a lot with miscommunications and fighting, but we are working on it. so I do think marriage counseling could work, and that you need to have a heart to heart with your man about saving your marriage. good luck hun.

absolutely. my husband and I have been best friends since 16, married since 23, and are now in our thirties. we definitely got married too young even though there's no one else in the world for either of us. we got very close to divorce and when we were about to pull the plug we looked at each other and said what are we doing. we are each other's best friend and we decided there's nothing we wouldn't do for the other person to make it work. it took time and it took effort. it took a lot of introspection and being willing to admit being wrong. and now we're back to being us. We have a son and I get to live my life married to my best friend. this never would have happened if we didn't communicate. we are both willing to hear things we don't want to and we trust each other. That means trusting someone to know you better than you may think you know yourself.  I went from thinking I was going to lose it all to having a life that's better than I ever could have dreamed.

my relationship was basically built to destroy us. my parents hated him. my whole family hated him. i didnt care. hes got alot of issues. but im willing to stick it out. because i couldnt stand to watch somebody else not treat him the way he needs to be treated or loved the way he meeds to be loved. im the only one that knows how to do that. and no its not like im guilted. i am happy to help him and love him. And yes weve had ALOT of problems and rough patches. but i have full and complete faith we will absolutely get through it. hes my soul mate and my best friend.
