how did you keep the secret about your pregnancy until you announced?

I want to tell my family, particularly my mom, that we are expecting our rainbow baby. I'm only 4 weeks and with how devastating my miscarriage was I know it's best to wait. but I want to tell everybody. how did you handle wanting to tell? also how did you finally announce?

We were waiting till 12 weeks to tell our families. I miscarriages 2 days before our ultrasound. I was devastated and called my mom from the hospital. I felt awful calling her to share our sad news, but hadn’t been able to share our good news. Next time, I want to wait longer to tell others, but I plan on telling my mom after 8 week ultrasound.

We announce typically to the world after the 8th week ultrasound. We will tell family before because i dont know how we would get through losing a baby without their support.

We told our families at 4-5wks last pregnancy and some close friends. It ended in miscarriage at 6wks but I am still pleased we told people, as we got to celebrate our positive pregnancy test and our baby with them, and then when we lost it we shared our grief too. I found it much easier having people know we were hurting than having to pretend it hadn’t happened.
